just a quick note for those of you that are interested, i've started a weekly post on my studio blog about dark plants in the garden.  it's a topic that i'm really passionate about and look forward to sharing more.  my first post today is about mr. sexy up there: black mondo grass.

i got some new sandals.  i have a few pairs of ld tuttles and i love them all.

i brought these red dahlias home from the shop and they are so beautiful i had to share.

sunday t and i went to the geffen contemporary to see art in the streets.  a great show for anyone in la (and heading to new york from here).  this is a world that is very close to us, as t is a screen printer and artist.   

i learned of swoon (bottom 2 images) from one of my old roommates who was good friends with her and i became a huge fan.  her work is so intricate and personal and i was really impressed with her installation.  i'll have to post some images that aren't shitty iphone shots.

closet makeover

i'm at the studio working today, but when i get home i am planning to tear my closet apart and reorganize.  this is a part of "project trim the fat" in the closet which i have already started. i know i have a good amount of sentimental items that i am just not wearing enough to justify keeping.  i also want to get rid of my bedroom desk which i never use and just asks for clutter.  instead, i'm going to put in a clothing rack for the items that are in heavy rotation and then use my closet for better storage and off season items.

to add to my rotation of favorites including diptyque's l'eau and philosykos (for summer).  i lean towards a spicy scent...

there is a planet tilda and i'm buying a one way ticket there...

my saturday morning has consisted of a client meeting in the hollywood hills (i took surface streets to avoid the feared carmaggeddon), a stop at one of my favorite dimly lit coffee shops- the bourgeois pig- on franklin, and lingering in the news stand next door where i picked up the newest W magazine.  with tilda swinton on the cover i knew that i had to have it and... 

it is good, really really good!

a new (to me) piece that i found searching the racks at one of my favorite second hand shops.  i have found many treasures there, but this must be an all time best score. 

going gray

going gray...  in men it's regal and sophisticated... but there is still a stigma among women in modern society.  it's dreaded.  the beauty industry makes millions from women trying to fight against this natural progression of age.

i see gray hair as graceful, mature (which is a good thing right?!) and super sexy.  this woman has lived life and has stories to tell.  at thirty-two,  i'm still far from a full head of gray eventhough my grandmother was mostly gray by thirty.  she has the most beautiful white hair and i so hope that i will have her genes on this.  

when i'm gray, i want to wear it long and flowing like kristen mcnemany (photo harpers bazaar). 

and maybe with some gorgeous black streaks a la daphne guiness. (photo harpers bazaar).
